Why? Why not?

My colleague Rick Apperson just posted an excellent piece over on his blog where he asks the big “why” questions.

Excerpt:

I have noticed over the years that it is ok in Christian circles to ask certain questions…  What denomination are you?  When is the rapture going to take place?  How long did creation take?

These are all acceptable questions.

Yet, ask things like…  Why does God allow suffering?  Why did my <insert person> have to die such a horrible death?  Why do the wicked prosper and God’s children seem to go without?

Ask these questions and the wheels come off the bus…
